Fairview and Lucas,
Fairview has an overall ranking of A+ for lifestyle and Lucas has a ranking of A. Fairview and Lucas both have school district rankings of A+. (Lucas's ISD is the Lovejoy ISD)
Fairview is a small bedroom community on Hwy 75 just north of Allen. Except for the relatively recent adult golf and retirement community, Heritage Ranch, the town is primarily comprised of homes in developments with lot sizes of an acre or more. The homes tend to be large and rather new. Fairview’s children attend schools from either the Allen or Lucas School Districts, both of which are rated among the highest in the state.
Many people in the North Dallas area elect to move to the Lucas for the possibility of having a large lot and good schools that rival those of the Highland Park School District.
The lifestyle in Lucas and Fairview is laid back, affluent, and family oriented. The towns' neighborhoods range from zero-lot-line Adult Communities to neighborhoods with homes on on large lots. Other than the areas along Hwy. 75, the two towns have a small-town feeling.
Shopping in the Lucas and Fairview communities is easy at the Village at Fairview along Hwy 75.
The Heard Natural Science Museum and Sanctuary is located within the town of Lucas and contributes an overall rural feeling the farther you get from Hwy. 75.
Lake Lavon forms the eastern boundary for Lucas and a few neighborhoods within the town have either lake views or lake access. Riding stables and barns can be found throughout Lucas and several homes on larger lots keep horses and other animals. This is a town where you can have a rooster as your alarm clock and a Mercedes in the driveway.There are several new large neighborhood projects being built in Lucas and the prospect for growth in the area is absolute.
