Parker is a small community primarily know as the Home of Southfork Ranch, the setting for the TV series "Dallas" several years ago. Nowadays, Parker is primarily known as an affluent "Estates Area" with very large homes on very large lots or acreage, as well as neighborhoods with large homes on slightly larger-than-average lots.

The town sits just above and east of Plano, west of Wylie, south of Lucas. The population is around 5,000 with very low population density.
